(1) Annual conference
At the annual conference of Economic Sociology, in addition to symposium-style presentations and discussions based on a common theme (conference topic), there are also invited lectures by external researchers and active presentations and discussions of free topics by members.
(2) Joint research meeting
At the joint research meetings held by the Eastern and Western branches, research reports on various topics are presented by both veteran and younger researchers.
(3) Research meeting
The research meetings held in the Eastern and Western regions are also utilized as venues for research presentations and discussions by new members, in addition to existing members.
(4) Award Takata Yasuma
At The Society of Economic Sociology, the Award Takata Yasuma has been established to recognize outstanding achievements by members.
(5) Karasawa Fund
To support reports presented by young members at the conference, we have established the Young Researcher Support Program (Karasawa Fund). Members eligible for this program are encouraged to consider utilizing this support.
(6) Society’s journal
As the society’s journal, “The Journal of Economic Sociology” is published once a year. After one year from publication, the full text will be made available on J-Stage.
(7) Newsletter
At The Society of Economic Sociology, a newsletter is published twice a year to provide various announcements related to the society’s activities, as well as to serve as a platform for communication and information exchange among members.
